Oscar Hernandez and his young adult son Damian found themselves roughing it during the dead of winter in Niagara Falls recently.

“When I came here I was sleeping with my son in the street for a week,” he said. “It’s very tough, especially in the wintertime.”

But soon Hernandez, originally from El Salvador, heard about the free breakfasts being served 365 days a year at the Third Space Café on Queen Street and he and Damian walked through the doors.
